Duncan Manor

"In 1866, cattle farmer and merchant William Duncan began building a towering brick manor outside of Towanda Illinois...

150 years later, Dave and Randi purchased the property and began restoring the Manor to its former glory. The Manor has been given new life as a place for community, sustainability, and restoration in central Illinois. 

The Howells have devoted the last 7 years to reclaiming prairie land and restoring Duncan Manor House & Gardens to create a sustainable hub for local businesses, art, community, history, culture and agriculture in central Illinois."

Located in Towanda, Illinois the Manor symbolizes much of what grief can encompass. A tall and stately building that sits isolated surrounded by open fields, Duncan Manor has endured the highs and lows of life. Across the years, the Manor has weathered many storms, sat alone and has even had sections literally fall apart. Despite these challenges, the Manor has also basked in the sun, been loved and cared for and provided a safe haven for many. 

The Howell's have poured their heart and soul into restoring Duncan Manor. Day by day and project by project, Dave and Randi have embraced the house and turned it into their home. 

While it's true that Duncan Manor may never return to its' original state, that's okay. The Manor is still standing despite the Light + Dark of life that it has experienced.
